About the role

  • Working under the direction of the Resident Engineer / Construction Manager, the CI is responsible for daily field observation, quantity tracking, documentation, and quality verification, serving as DDOT's frontline presence on the project.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Experience with field documentation and reporting

Nice to have

  • Experience on DDOT, SHA, or other DOT projects
  • NICET (Highway Construction or Transportation)
  • Traffic Control / MOT certification
  • Erosion & Sediment Control certification
  • Certifications such as:
  • Familiarity with:
  • AASHTO and MUTCD standards
  • DDOT Construction Management Manual

Skills

  • Field documentation systems (e.g., Field Manager or similar)
  • Basic quantity tracking and measurement
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to maintain organized project records
  • Work in active construction zones, traffic environments, and varying weather conditions
  • Night work and weekend shifts may be required depending on project phasing
