About the role
- The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of equipment at a recycling facility for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, baling, loading, unloading, and/or compacting waste or recyclable material.
- Safely and efficiently operate construction grade wheel-loader, fork-lift, commercial compactor and tractor truck using proper safety standards
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound flow of materials by entering the facility by directing trucks where they need to tip and coordinate safe discharge of material
- Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment to ensure windows, lights and mirrors are clean, and the fuel tank is full
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs to wheel-loader, fork-lift, compactor and truck
- Operate the Kubota and perform the Baler Operator Position
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive training for new employees, ensuring they are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
- Ability to perform on the sort line if needed
- Perform other additional duties as assigned

Skills
- Excellent time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and will follow through on challenges as they arise
- Ability to adhere to company policies and rules set forth
- Promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work location
- Ability to maintain a reliable attendance record

Compensation
- $22.50 - $24.50 per hour
- This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
