About the role

  • You'll be joining the Origination stream, the product area responsible for the end-to-end mortgage journey, covering self-serve and advisor-supported application flows, underwriting, decisioning, and funding.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess the impact of new lending features, regulatory changes, and origination workflow evolutions to help shape product direction and support strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, QA, operations, and compliance to validate designs and proposed solutions, ensuring they align with origination best practices and industry standards.
  • Support the backlog refinement process by prioritizing origination-related epics and stories, balancing customer experience, operational needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of origination processes, scenarios, requirements, and system behaviours to support product teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Act as the go-to expert for your origination workflows, answering questions, supporting issue triage, and ensuring the product supports exceptional origination experiences across all lending products.
  • Use the tools available to you to get to answers faster, whether that means building a rough prototype, running a quick experiment, or drafting a solution to pressure-test with users before it becomes a roadmap item.

  • You'll work closely with the stream lead, and together you'll define the boundaries of your focus area based on your strengths, the team's needs, and where the biggest opportunities are.

  • 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in product management, ideally with exposure to mortgage origination, lending, or a closely adjacent regulated financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to mortgage and consumer lending, including provincial regulations, OSFI guidelines, insurance requirements, and reporting obligations.
