About the role

- Ivy Tech is looking for a College Connection Coach to work with the Vanderburgh County schools.
- Will work with Academic Affairs on coordinating dual credit opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one coaching that supports college attainment and career exploration and complements services that may be available through high school, college, or the community.
- Utilize community resources that support student access and success in college.
- Develop and convene regularly scheduled small group sessions for students throughout the academic year.
- These sessions are structured as informal group check-ins and as workshops designed to help students navigate the college environment, access resources, and build a network of peer support. ( i.e. program specific groups, financial aid workshops, ACT & SAT information, ACCUPLACER information)
- May provide support for employer partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven ability to initiate and balance multiple work projects.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
- The primary goal of the College Connection Coach is to establish relationships with high school students in order to encourage and assist students toward enrollment in college and persistence toward degree completion.
- The Coach will provide college and career support to high school students who are seeking employment or a four-year degree upon completion of a Technical Certificate or Associate Degree.
- Flexibility required with some evening and Saturday duties.
- Maintains accurate records and collects and enters required information and case notes for each student in the coaching cohort, including regularly updated student contact information, and academic progress.
- Develops required reports.
Nice to have
- Experience in K-12 or college-level preferred.
- Training, or teaching experience with young adults preferred.

Compensation
- $35,000-$4 5,000 annually based on experience.
- Develop and deliver annual orientation for new student participants and a summer series of college preparation and team building workshops.

- Must stay current with Ivy Tech programs, admission and registration processes, career and higher education trends, and requirements of the Indiana Department of Education.
