Responsibilities
- Delivers or assures delivery of medications to a nursing station in a timely and courteous manner.
- Performs rounds as assigned to check for unused or discontinued medications.
- Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will perform assigned tasks, within their scope, necessary for the operation of the Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Required: Current California Pharmacy Technician or Intern Pharmacist registration
- Knowledge as well as demonstrated competency of IV compounding using aseptic technique.
- Required: Six months previous relevant pharmacy tech experience.
- Maintains and updates logs, crash cart list and communication are required, if applicable to assigned work site.

- Knowledge and training in sterile technique, drug incompatibilities and stabilities, math computations, weights, volumes, concentrations, dilutions, Responsible for accurately and aseptically preparing, labeling, and compounding total parenteral nutrition, piggybacks, large volume intravenous mixtures, epidural preparations, and other medications.
- Responsible for accurately and aseptically preparing and labeling unit dose medication for neonatal and pediatric patients.
- Thoroughly cleans, decontaminates, calibrates, and documents all clean room equipment as per established procedures and policies.
- Has knowledge and training in and is responsible for accurate and aseptic preparation of cytotoxic preparations.
