About the role

  • AmpThink is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structured Cabling Technician to join our dynamic team.
  • As a Senior Technician, you will also mentor junior technicians and ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards and within deadlines.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and prepare reports for project planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and termination of copper and fiber optic cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, and multimode fiber.
  • Document progress and changes to cabling infrastructure throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineering teams to ensure project timelines and quality expectations are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in structured cabling installation within commercial or large venue environments.
  • Strong understanding of cabling standards including ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and NEC.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with testing and certification of cabling systems using industry-standard equipment.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of IP networking and data center infrastructure is a plus.
  • Certifications such as BICSI Installer, Fiber Optic Certification, or similar are preferred but not mandatory.
