About the role

  • STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Vehicles Engineering Co-op Student to join our Vehicles/Systems Engineering team.
  • This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects.
  • This position requires at least 5 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design reviews and problem-solving on rail vehicle subsystems, ensuring design integrity and functionality.
  • Perform information take-offs from engineering drawings and assist with drawing interpretation for various projects.
  • Prepare technical studies and assist with small AutoCAD projects, contributing to the design and development process.
  • Develop spreadsheets and databases using MS Excel and Access, and analyze test data to support engineering decisions.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.

Nice to have

  • Experience using AutoCAD.
  • Strong working knowledge of various State and local entities specifications and preferences.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Mathcad, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office suite.

  • $47,959.00 - $54,498.00

  • The listed pay range is STV's good-faith salary estimate for this position.
  • Please note that the final salary offered for this position may be outside of this published range based on many factors, including but not limited to geography, education, experience, and/or certifications.
  • Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year)
