About the role

  • The Cable Public Affairs Channel is Canada's only national bilingual media outlet focused exclusively on politics and public affairs.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY Works under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Overseeing Accounting team to ensure accuracy of financial entries and adherence to internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new business opportunities and develop strategies to attract new sources of revenues.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Join CPAC to build on 30 years of unfiltered access to Canadian democracy.
  • Develop strategies to attract new sources of revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a senior finance role with a non-profit organization.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with government grants is considered an asset.
  • Past experience with a Canadian broadcaster an asset.

Nice to have

  • CPA designation preferred.
