About the role

Responsibilities

  • Checks instruments and meters in order to monitor the operation of electrical power generating equipment and to maintain operating information log.

Requirements

  • Current valid Stationary Engineer's license as issued by the Maine Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessels, or the ability to obtain a valid Stationary Engineer's license within the first six (6) months of employment.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions in the operation of high pressure steam generating plants.
  • Knowledge of the mechanical trades.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools employed in the maintenance of high pressure steam generating plants.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to make emergency repairs to heating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to supervise the work of boiler operators and other helpers.
  • Ability to keep records.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Compensation

  • Salary: $22.19 - $30.26
