About the role

  • DynaTen, a Comfort Systems USA Company, is seeking a Startup Technician I to join our Startup team.
  • This role is ideal for someone with hands-on field, construction, installation, or service experience who has a basic understanding of equipment operation, electrical hookups, mechanical systems, and how equipment is controlled.

Responsibilities

  • Support jobsite inspections before startup to help verify installation is consistent with manufacturer instructions, project requirements, and startup procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with project teams, trade partners, contractors, and internal team members.
  • Develop working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, controls, electrical components, and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, equipment schedules, submittals, and wiring diagrams with support.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of related field experience.
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to complete accurate startup documentation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • EPA certification required or must be obtained after hire.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 required or must be obtained after hire.

Nice to have

  • Commercial HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, or service experience.
  • Exposure to Procore, CxAlloy, Microsoft Project, or similar project documentation tools.
  • Basic knowledge of air handling units, pumps, fans, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and control devices.
  • Manufacturer training or trade school experience.
  • A level I Startup Technician should have exposure to the following, and other, typical equipment and systems:
  • Air handling units
  • Chilled water systems
  • Hot water systems
