About the role
- This is an early, high-impact role in the Network Software team that combines distributed and embedded systems depth, networking fundamentals, and strong technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design and development of entire control plane software for the Logos network.
- Lead design and development of various services for SDN, Ground Segment, NetOps, and SATOps functionality.
- Build services and scalable APIs for provisioning, configuration, automation, telemetry integration, and operational workflows.
- Design for dynamic network conditions, including changing topology, link variability, congestion, degradation, and failures.
- Participate directly in implementation, code reviews, design reviews, debugging, test strategy and system integration.
- The Control Plane Software Lead will spearhead the architecture, design and implementation of Control Plane software for Logos network.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on both cloud/on-premises solutions, embedded systems, and network stacks.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading control plane software development, with the scope and breadth of this role.
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and make pragmatic architecture decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with SDN Controllers, Intent-based networking or network automation platforms
- Experience with core network technology, such as MPLS.
- Experience with specific cloud services and technologies (e.g., serverless computing, databases, container and orchestration frameworks).
- Experience with satellite or wireless communications and architectures
- Experience working across control plane, data plane, platform and embedded boundaries
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud/on-premises environments.
- Ability and willingness to attain a Top Secret Clearance
