About the role

  • This is an early, high-impact role in the Network Software team that combines distributed and embedded systems depth, networking fundamentals, and strong technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design and development of entire control plane software for the Logos network.
  • Lead design and development of various services for SDN, Ground Segment, NetOps, and SATOps functionality.
  • Build services and scalable APIs for provisioning, configuration, automation, telemetry integration, and operational workflows.
  • Design for dynamic network conditions, including changing topology, link variability, congestion, degradation, and failures.
  • Participate directly in implementation, code reviews, design reviews, debugging, test strategy and system integration.
  • The Control Plane Software Lead will spearhead the architecture, design and implementation of Control Plane software for Logos network.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on both cloud/on-premises solutions, embedded systems, and network stacks.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading control plane software development, with the scope and breadth of this role.
  • Strong technical expertise in:
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and make pragmatic architecture decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SDN Controllers, Intent-based networking or network automation platforms
  • Experience with core network technology, such as MPLS.
  • Experience with specific cloud services and technologies (e.g., serverless computing, databases, container and orchestration frameworks).
  • Experience with satellite or wireless communications and architectures
  • Experience working across control plane, data plane, platform and embedded boundaries
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud/on-premises environments.
  • Ability and willingness to attain a Top Secret Clearance
