About the role

  • This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition under ASC 606 across complex software licensing, subscription, and hardware contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Own global revenue accounting activities, including monthly close, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and related financial reporting in accordance with ASC 606
  • Review and interpret complex customer contracts across software licenses, subscriptions, maintenance/support, and hardware
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk to evaluate and structure non-standard deals, ensuring alignment between commercial terms and revenue recognition requirements
  • Establish and maintain standalone selling price (SSP) methodologies and support ongoing updates as product and pricing models evolve
  • Support external audits, serving as a key point of contact for revenue recognition matters and audit deliverables
  • Drive modernization of revenue systems and processes, leveraging automation and AI to improve scalability, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Lead and develop a revenue accounting team, fostering technical depth, operational excellence, and cross-functional partnership

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, including a combination of public accounting and high-growth technology or software industry experience
  • Proven expertise with ASC 606 revenue recognition, with required experience accounting for complex multi-element arrangements
  • Experience supporting implementation and enhancement of revenue recognition systems (e.g., Zuora Revenue or similar), including integration with ERP and automation of revenue accounting processes
  • Advanced analytical and technical accounting skills with ability to independently research and resolve complex issues
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
