About the role

  • The Residential Coordinator provides essential 24-hour awake coverage and supervision of the domestic violence shelter.
  • This position is responsible for crisis intervention, facilities management, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the front desk and maintaining a positive living environment within the shelter.
  • The residential coordinator will ensure the safety of shelter residents and the property of Shelter House.

Responsibilities

  • The Residential Coordinator is the lead person on shift acting as the first point of contact for client needs and support.
  • How you will contribute: Ensure the safe functioning of the shelter and maintain a safe environment for clients.
  • Since the organization's inception, we have adapted and grown to meet community needs, all while working in partnership with government and private partners and community members.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience in human services Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and team members Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have

  • A bachelor's in human services/ related field Experience working in programs serving victims of domestic violence Experience working in a residential environment

Compensation

  • $20.00 Per Hour About Us Shelter House was established in 1981 as a grassroots responder to the homelessness crisis in Fairfax County.
