About the role

  • The Lead Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading large, cross-functional technology programs that span multiple business units and technical teams. Unlike a traditional project manager, this role manages programs comprised of multiple related workstreams with significant technical complexity, organizational dependencies, and executive
  • The Lead TPM establishes delivery strategy, drives program governance, manages enterprise risks, facilitates executive decision-making, and ensures technology initiatives deliver measurable business value. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to technology and business leadership while mentoring project managers and helping strengthen PMO standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent enterprise technology programs from initiation through operational transition.
  • Develop integrated program roadmaps that align technical delivery with organizational priorities.
  • Drive execution across multiple dependent projects while maintaining alignment to scope, schedule, budget, and strategic objectives.
  • Partner closely with engineering and architecture leaders to understand technical dependencies, sequencing, implementation risks, and delivery constraints.
  • Support implementation planning, production readiness, cutover planning, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior technology and business leaders.
  • Lead executive steering committee meetings and governance forums.
  • Drive alignment among competing priorities while facilitating timely decision making.
  • Maintain integrated program plans, RAID logs, dependency maps, decision logs, and executive dashboards.
  • Develop mitigation strategies across multiple workstreams and organizations.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of progressively responsible program and project management experience.
  • 5+ years leading large, enterprise technology programs with multiple workstreams and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Experience working directly with technical architects, engineering teams, and technology leadership.
  • Experience with enterprise project management platforms such as Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of program governance, portfolio management, risk management, and enterprise delivery methodologies.

Nice to have

  • PMP certification required or strongly preferred.
  • PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Scrum Master, or equivalent program management certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting cloud transformation, enterprise infrastructure modernization, M&A integration, or large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working within an Enterprise PMO.
