About the role
- Report to the Administrative Staff Sergeant assigned to the SIPA pilot project
- Provide constructive verbal and written feedback to recruits
- Workload: 2 - 6 hours per week for the 16-week Block 1 period; varies by discipline
Responsibilities
- The South Island Police Academy (SIPA) is seeking expressions of interest for instructor positions to support our new pilot regional basic municipal recruit training program.
- These roles are designed as supplemental assignments rather than secondments; therefore, subject matter experts will be scheduled alongside their regular duties.
- Deliver instruction in your area of expertise using approved lesson plans
- Collaborate with other instructors, role players, and support staff
- Support: Comprehensive instructional materials and slides are provided to minimize preparatory time
Requirements
- Information sessions will be held in the two weeks prior to the September 14th start date with partial attendance only required
- Completed expressions of interest documents (cover letter, resume, supervisor sign off) must be submitted via BambooHR by June 1/2026 @ 1600 hours.
