About the role

The Hazardous Waste Technician II (HWT II) is an intermediate-level position within the Hazardous materials operations at Reworld Kitchener.
The HWT II will be experienced and capable of conducting hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment utilizing the various technologies and chemicals available to them with minimal supervision.
The HWT II will be proficient in handling, sorting, and consolidating hazardous materials received in the plant and onsite at customers' locations.

Independently manage customer-site projects, including waste identification, inventory collection, lab packing, regulatory documentation, and client communication while maintaining strong customer relationships and representing Reworld professionally.
Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, manifests, and related records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Assist in the evaluation and management of incoming waste streams to support safe handling, processing, and disposal decisions.
Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure availability of all supplies necessary for assigned tasks.
Advise and work with operation and transport teams to provide support on the safe and proper handling of hazardous waste.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Reworld may sometimes selectively collaborate with staffing agencies and search firms (Agencies).

High School Diploma or GED is required
2-5 years of experience in hazardous waste management, environmental services, laboratory operations, chemical handling, or a related industry
Ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal methods

Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Technology, or related field.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Previous hazardous waste, environmental services, laboratory, or industrial chemical experience
Experience with RPRA manifesting systems
Physical Demands of the Role
Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces

28.94 - 38.46 CAD per hour

The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
