About the role
- We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector (CI) to provide full time, on site inspection and documentation services for a major U.S. Coast Guard infrastructure recapitalization project.
- This position serves as an advisor to the Government's project team and does not direct contractor means or methods.
- Review schedules, submittals, test reports, payment requests, and certified payrolls.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily on site inspections of mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, and architectural work.
- Document progress through Daily Construction Reports, photos, and a bound daily diary.
- Track field tests, verify quantities, and maintain organized project files.
Requirements
- Conduct monthly labor interviews and submit required documentation.
- The following is a list of specialized skills or codes which may be required:
- Ability to walk, climb, stoop, lift 50 lbs, and work in tunnels, basements, roofs, ladders, and adverse weather.
- All required equipment-including laptop, camera, PPE, measuring tools, and office supplies-will be provided.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field + 5 years construction experience
- PE, PMP, or QA/QC certification preferred.
Skills
- 10+ years construction experience (QA/QC, superintendent, safety, or management) with strong reporting and computer skills.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
