About the role

Provides pastoral guidance to the youth within the Boys Town community, demonstrates a strong pastoral presence that fosters unity among religions, and serves as a spiritual role model on campus.
- Adheres to policies related to safety and boundaries with service recipients.

Organizes and leads weekly and special worship and prayer services with sports teams, the Residential Treatment center, and others as assigned.
Provides effective teaching and leads by example for pre-adolescent and adolescent youth who come from a variety of environments and faith traditions.
Leads high school youth and faith groups.
Maintains a regular, weekly presence in Boys Town Schools.
Builds relationships with Boys Town youth and Family Home Program staff.
Develops and maintains a cadre of adult volunteers to help with Boys Town ministries.
Works regularly to welcome new Boys Town Family Home Program staff to campus; identifies, implements, and leads changes necessary to increased Family Home youth and staff participation in church life at Chambers Chapel.
Works to build and maintain unity and harmony within the various stakeholders including the Boys Town Employee Resource groups.
Works with organization stakeholders to plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, service, and outreach.

Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in youth or church ministry required.
Experience in pastoral ministry required.
Available to travel locally as needed required.
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed required.
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.

Experience working with at risk young men preferred.
Experience in pastoral ministry with emphasis on youth ministry preferred.
Ordination from an accredited seminary, bible college or church denomination preferred.

Serves as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.

Handling of average weight objects up to 20 pounds or standing and/or walking or at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.

Must possess a straightforward belief in Jesus as Lord, and the acceptance of the Apostles Creed or Nicene Creed.
Exhibits godly character and qualities.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relational skills and a passion for pastoral care.
Views ministry as a lifestyle, not as a job.
Demonstrates effectiveness in discipleship and ability to inspire and equip members of the congregation.
Working knowledge of sound system and video equipment at Chambers Chapel.
Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
Ability to relate well to people of different ages and faith backgrounds.
