- Deputy Sheriffs in the Patrol Division are responsible for protecting life, property, and public safety by enforcing laws and responding to emergencies.

Requirements
- Deputy Sheriffs are required to supply their own duty handgun and limited personal equipment (undershirts, duty boots, flashlight) prior to being sworn in.
Compensation
- $82,148 (Tier 1)
- $116,645 (Tier 6)
- 1 year of credit per year as a certified peace officer with another law enforcement agency ½ year of credit per year as a non-certified Deputy Sheriff and/or Military Police
