About the role

Job Description: QC Laboratory Chemist Huntsman is seeking a QC Laboratory Chemist supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
This position will report to the Quality Manager.
This role ensures adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), laboratory quality systems, and safety policies while supporting the site's quality objectives.

The QC Laboratory Chemist is responsible for performing Quality Control testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products in support of manufacturing operations.
Perform quality control analytical testing in accordance with established SOPs and laboratory procedures.
Support routine testing of incoming and production samples to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Apply basic chemistry, mathematics, and statistical principles to support laboratory operations.
Operate and maintain analytical instruments, including Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) systems.
Perform Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, reporting out-of-control conditions to Quality Management.
Conduct laboratory data reviews and maintain accurate documentation of testing activities.
Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards.

Associate of Science degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
0-2 years of experience in a quality control laboratory, chemical laboratory, or related environment.
4+ years of experience working in a chemical laboratory or chemical manufacturing environment in lieu of the Associate degree requirement.
Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and quality control practices.
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory quality systems.
Proficiency with computer applications and laboratory software systems.

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
Experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial laboratory environment.
Hands-on experience with Gas Chromatography (GC), Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), or similar analytical instrumentation.
Experience with Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
Knowledge of laboratory quality systems, chemical hygiene practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience supporting method development, optimization, or validation activities.
Familiarity with laboratory inventory management and chemical handling procedures.
