About the role
- Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion.
- Completing all artwork for sets, props, etc. for any production coming out of the scene shop.
- This position is supervised by the Scenic Charge.
Responsibilities
- Ability to organize and maintain inventory of painting supplies and tools.
Requirements
- Strong experience in scenic art, understanding different paint styles.
- Knowledge of all areas of a paint shop and its tools/equipment.
- Must be able to follow a design through to completion.
- Experience handling multiple productions at one time.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- May be required to travel to on-campus and local facilities.
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
- Knowledge of theatrical production processes, from design phase to strike.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
- Computer skills.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Skills
- The shop can be loud when tools are in use.
