About the role
- Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: IBBR is a joint research enterprise of the University of Maryland, College Park, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
- This involves synthesis and characterization of hybrid organic-inorganic macromolecules for use in self-assembling nano-scale systems and stimuli responsive materials.
- The resultant polymer structures and biomaterials are typically characterized by advanced suite of analytical techniques, such as NMR, SEC, AF4, DLS, MALS, ITC and, in some cases, may be directly visualized by cryogenic electron microscopy.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in the synthesis, purification, and characterization of synthetic polymers,
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required, as is the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
