About the role

  • As a Melting Technician operating the industrial furnace at ROCKWOOL you will be responsible for a variety of jobs throughout the hot end area.
  • Safety will be your upmost priority while supporting the effective production of high-quality stone wool insulation products within the Company's parameters of material and time efficiency.
  • Reporting to the respective shift Production Supervisor, the Melting Technician is part of the operations team focused on continuous improvement and maximizing uptime.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistency in the volumes and quality of melt being produced and delivered to help drive execution against the production plan and key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods up to 12 hours
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work around moving equipment
  • Ability to wear required PPE
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 6 years' continuous flow manufacturing or industrial experience required.
  • Monitor and adjust production process equipment required in the industrial melting furnace area, including spinners, WESP, binder, raw material hoppers, process water, filters, and resin tanks.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience working in the aggregate, steel, or metal refining industries preferred.
