About the role

RTW Investments is seeking a highly effective Director of Human Resources to serve as the senior executor and integrator for HR across a hedge fund and its portfolio of newly formed companies.
In keeping with the firm's ethos, this is a hands-on role.
The ideal candidate is a low-ego, systems-driven operator who thrives in complex environments, brings structure to ambiguity, and ensures consistent, high-quality execution.

Own and optimize core people operations across the hedge fund and its portfolio companies
Build, standardize, and continuously improve HR processes, including onboarding, performance cycles, compliance, and onboarding and offboarding
Own HR systems and data integrity
Translate evolving firm needs into durable HR infrastructure that can support multiple entities at different stages
Partner closely with the Head of HR to translate people strategy and organizational design into executable plans

Coach and develop HR team members
Own HR systems and data integrity; ensure accuracy, scalability, and operational rigor
Surface risks, gaps, and execution issues early; drive resolution

8-12 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in hedge funds, private investment firms, or high-growth, multi-entity environments
Exceptionally strong operator with a track record of building and running scalable HR systems
Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with senior-level partnership
Highly systems-oriented, detail-driven, and organized
Low ego, high ownership; thrives as a trusted second-in-command
Strong judgment and discretion in high-performance, confidential environments
Effective coach and mentor who brings structure and calm to fast-moving teams
Is: A senior execution role with real ownership across HR operations and recruiting

The base salary for this New York-based position ranges from $200,000 to $250,000, depending on experience, skills, and responsibilities.
Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and the level at which the role is hired.

HR Operations & Infrastructure
Partnership & Integration on the HR Team
Act as the integrator across HR initiatives, ensuring priorities are clear, work is coordinated, and execution stays on track
Establish operating cadence, dashboards, timelines, and check-ins to provide visibility into headcount, hiring, and HR operations
Raise the bar on execution quality, follow-through, and operating rigor
Recruiting & Talent Execution
Personally recruit for priority, complex, or high-impact roles, in close partnership with the Head of HR and business leaders
Support leaders with practical guidance on role scoping, interview process, and decision-making
