Responsibilities
- Expertise in writing processes and articulating complex concepts, especially within art and design contexts.
- Demonstrates ability to guide students in developing precise, coherent, engaging written work.
- Flexibility in scheduling and teaching methods to meet the changing needs of our student body, ensuring accessibility and support for every student.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Creative Writing, Art History, or related fields
- While performing the duties of job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
Nice to have
- A Master's degree or current enrollment in a relevant graduate program
- TESOL/TEFL Certification or similar qualifications in ESL/EFL teaching methodologies
- Background in living, studying, or working in multicultural environments, providing a deeper understanding of cross-cultural communication and engagement
- Fluency in international languages, like Mandarin and/or Korean.

- Must be able to commute to Baltimore campus for in-person tutoring shifts.
Compensation
- $20k-$25k

- Create an accessible learning environment, and partner with MICA's academic community to share strategies and insights that enhance student success.
- Develop instructional materials for synchronous and asynchronous learning, such as in-class workshops and writing guides, as well as Writing Studio promotional materials.
- Able to create tutoring materials and strategies that cater to various learning styles and needs.
