About the role
- Write clean, efficient and testable code while adhering to established development standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application defects, managing issues through the defect tracking system.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimise backend applications using PHP (7/8.1) and Node.js.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and test plans.
- Monitor system performance and provide ongoing technical support.
- Research and implement new technologies to improve application performance and scalability.
- Experience developing applications within an n-tier architecture.
Requirements
- Skills & Experience Proficiency in PHP with commercial backend development experience
- knowledge of Node.js is desirable.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Experience with Symfony 4/5 and Doctrine ORM.
- Working knowledge of Vue.js.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and Redis.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
