Responsibilities

  • Design new products for the semiconductor industry as well as design new mechanical features for existing products.
  • Work cooperatively with electrical and software engineering to ensure that new product designs will function per market and customer requirements.
  • Understand and communicate cost impact of new designs.
  • Build prototypes.
  • Support operations, supply chain, field service and the quality organization as needed to ensure the product line can be sustained and function reliably.
  • Experience in all aspects of mechanical design and development of new products, full life cycle ownership from concept thru production release.
  • Ability to understand Marketing Requirements Document and supplement with mechanical design requirements to meet these requirements.
  • Strong 3D CAD modeling (ProE & Solidworks) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) / CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) of mechanical designs.
  • Knowledge of materials and good design practices for the material of choice.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an NPI (New Product Introduction) environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamentals of components such as robotic mechanisms, including motors, bearings, sensors, actuators.
  • Strong knowledge of automation controls, robotics, semiconductor system integration.
  • Hands on skill for assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical components, assemblies and systems.
  • Ability to estimate tasks for completing projects and follow schedules.
  • Experience leading small offshore development teams.

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: $138,764.29 USD to $187,739.92 USD
  • Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
  • This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
