Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional partners, helping shape message strategy, audience approach, channel selection, and timing for key updates.
- Own and continuously improve recurring internal communication channels, including weekly newsletter, team presentations, digital signage, leader announcements, and other touchpoints that help employees stay informed and connected.
- Lead change communication strategies for critical business initiatives, using employee feedback, channel performance and organizational context to make recommendations that help employees navigate change with clarity and confidence.
- Own and manage Helion's intranet and knowledge base, collaborating with documentation owners and SMEs to maintain a reliable single source of truth for company information.
- Partner with IS&T, People Ops, and business leaders to evolve audience segmentation, communication governance, and channel distribution strategies so the right information reaches the right employees at the right time.
- We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in internal communications or employee engagement-ideally supporting high-growth organizations with distributed, deskless, or shift-based employee populations.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages across multiple formats, audiences, and channels, including email, Slack, Confluence, presentations, and digital signage.
- Highly organized and detail oriented, with a track record of driving projects forward, managing multiple stakeholders, and owning deliverables from concept through final execution.
- This role requires sound judgment, resourcefulness, and the ability to balance strategic guidance with excellent hands-on execution.
