About the role
- The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
- The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, site managers, and other trades to coordinate mechanical works within the overall tunneling schedule.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all mechanical work meets project standards and specifications.
- Regularly inspect mechanical installations and repairs to maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure that all mechanical workers are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
- Manage the allocation of mechanical resources, including personnel, tools, and materials.
- Maintain detailed records of mechanical works, including daily logs, equipment usage, and maintenance records.
- Address any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during surface and tunneling operations. Work with the engineering team to develop solutions that minimize disruptions and maintain progress.
- Proven track record in a supervisory role, with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of mechanical workers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop solutions to complex mechanical challenges.
Requirements
- Must be willing to register as a member of the local union.
Nice to have
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical work within the construction industry, with specific experience in tunneling or underground construction preferred.
Compensation
- Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents.
- This is a unionized role; therefore, the salary will be the according to the Schedule and Group per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
