About the role

  • Job Description * WE HAVE TWO (2) POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
  • In this role, you'll provide the full range of police services, including enforcing laws, investigating crimes and accidents, and responding to emergencies.
  • Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in regular training to maintain law enforcement skills and readiness

Requirements

  • No experience or training is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
  • Officers are also required to work special events and details as deemed necessary and assigned.
  • Applicants must have Civil Service test scores for the 2100-Protective Services Exam (PSE) to be considered for this vacancy unless exempted by Civil Service rules or policy.

Compensation

  • The Police Officer 1 offers a Special Entrance Rate of 18.58/hr. and the Police Officer 2 offers a Special Entrance Rate of 19.88/hr. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
  • In addition, market adjustment salary increases are awarded annually (pending funding availability) for eligible classified employees.
