- Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Ink Technician for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX.
- This position requires expertise in color matching, formulation, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs
- Manage ink inventory and related materials
- Support press changeovers
- Maintain cleanliness of work area
- The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing, blending, and managing inks, primers, and adhesives to support printing operations.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Drug screening required
- Background check required
- Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues (Associates in Written or higher stage of counseling are not eligible to apply)
- Must have performer or higher rating in last review
- Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat, stoop and reach
- Must be able to push & pull
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)
Nice to have
- 2 years ink technician experience preferred
Skills
- Proficiency in color matching and blending ( m ust pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test )
- Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Apps)
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Understanding of safety protocols
- Strong communication skills
- Time management and organizational abilities
- Ink formulation and color theory
- Safety protocols for handling hazardous materials
- Quality control procedures
