  • Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Ink Technician for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX.
  • This position requires expertise in color matching, formulation, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs
  • Manage ink inventory and related materials
  • Support press changeovers
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing, blending, and managing inks, primers, and adhesives to support printing operations.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Drug screening required
  • Background check required
  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues (Associates in Written or higher stage of counseling are not eligible to apply)
  • Must have performer or higher rating in last review
  • Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat, stoop and reach
  • Must be able to push & pull
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

Nice to have

  • 2 years ink technician experience preferred

Skills

  • Proficiency in color matching and blending ( m ust pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test )
  • Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X-RITE systems
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Apps)
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Understanding of safety protocols
  • Strong communication skills
  • Time management and organizational abilities
  • Ink formulation and color theory
  • Safety protocols for handling hazardous materials
  • Quality control procedures
