About the role
- The Radiologic/Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic x-rays and screening/diagnostic mammography exams for use in the evaluation of patients.
- Receives and evaluates providers' requests and interviews patients in order to determine views and positions necessary.
- Practices safe operating procedures and practices radiation safety while performing radiologic services.
Responsibilities
- The position also performs all clerical functions within the department and reports to the Radiology Department Manager.
Requirements
- Performs and assists in daily and monthly quality assurance required for mammography and x-ray.
- Required License(s) and/or Certification(s):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Ability to determine appropriate method for providing requested radiographs based upon the individual patient and pathology to ensure diagnostic radiographs.
- ARRT is required.

- Demonstrates an understanding of and alignment with Martin's Point Values.
- Must have a working knowledge of radiographic equipment, procedures and techniques, radiation safety and protection.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with patients and staff.
- Must be able to evaluate the diagnostic quality of radiographs.
- Ability to provide patient care with sensitivity and responsiveness to patients' needs.
- Flexibility to cover at other sites if needed.
