Responsibilities

  • Perform load calculations and design code-compliant solutions that actually work in the real world
  • Pull permits and own the inspection process end-to-end across OR jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with HVAC install crews and collaborate across trade lines to keep jobs moving efficiently
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and flag issues before they become problems
  • Maintain strict compliance with NEC and local electrical codes

Requirements

  • Master Electrician license with the ability to pull permits across Oregon jurisdictions
  • Comfort working in older homes and navigating the surprises that come with legacy wiring
  • Experience coordinating with HVAC crews or working on multi-trade jobs
  • Install all electrical infrastructure required to support heat pump systems - done right, on every job
  • Deep residential install experience, including service upgrades, panel work, and large load additions (heat pumps, EV chargers, etc.)
  • Fluency in modern panel technology - smart panels (Span, Leviton, Schneider, etc.), splitters, and sub-panel configurations
  • Ability to perform accurate load calculations using standard and optional methods
  • Solid troubleshooting instincts - you diagnose problems methodically and fix them cleanly
  • Physical stamina for hands-on residential install work
  • Valid driver's license
  • Follows OSHA Electrical Standard
  • Follows the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with heat pump or HVAC-related electrical installs (preferred)
  • Familiarity with cold-climate heat pump systems (preferred)
  • Experience on gas-to-electric conversion projects (preferred)
  • Actively staying current on electrification codes and equipment trends (preferred)

Compensation

  • $37 - $46 per hour (Plus $1000/monthly Stipend for Permit Holding)
