About the role
- Chainalysis' content team produces the reports that shape how the world understands cryptocurrency.
- Working alongside our in-house subject matter experts and investigators, our writers translate on-chain activity into clear, actionable insights for regulators, law enforcement and intelligence agencies, compliance teams, and journalists.
- We cover global policy, DeFi, sanctions enforcement, mixing services, and more - but above all, we're storytellers making sense of a complex subject.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to document criminal crypto activity.
- Develop long-term content ideas alongside our Research and Marketing teams.
- Own the accuracy of your work from sourcing to publication.
Nice to have
- Comfort navigating a block explorer.
- Experience writing SQL or similar queries.
- Experience growing an audience on social media for a brand or publication.
- 3+ years of professional writing experience, ideally in a newsroom or comparable editorial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex financial, technical, or regulatory topics in plain language - without buzzwords.
- Working knowledge of the crypto industry, including how blockchains, exchanges, DeFi protocols and stablecoins function in practice.
- Experience adapting tone and voice for distinct audiences (e.g., policymakers, compliance professionals, general readers).
- A bachelor's degree in a writing-intensive field (journalism, English, communications, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
