About the role

  • This position plays a key role in helping consumers, families, schools, employers, and agencies identify and access technology solutions that promote independence, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • This role includes demonstrating devices, managing device loans, delivering training, conducting assessments, facilitating train-the-trainer sessions, and offering technical assistance and consultative services.
  • Services may be offered on both a complimentary, and fee-based basis.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate a computer and computer software, as well as create spreadsheets and power point presentations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experienced troubleshooting problems, developing and implementing effective planning strategies, and providing technical assistance across a variety of settings.
  • In accordance with the Governor's Executive Order 303, our agency supports second-chance employment for individuals who were previously incarcerated or justice-involved.

Compensation

  • $39,671.00 - $69,426.00
  • Recruitment Range: $39,671.00 - $50,000.00

  • Description of Work
  • The Assistive Technologist collaborates closely with North Carolina Assistive Technology Program (NCATP) staff statewide, as well as Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) counselors and Raleigh office staff, to provide comprehensive assistive technology services across multiple Central NC counties.
