About the role

  • Works under the supervision of the Practice Manager and Physician.
  • Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients.
  • Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates practice support needs and identifies resources to meet the needs.
  • Answers My Chart messages or telephone calls from patients same day. Performs triage. Communicates timely with providers, vendors, and other team members.
  • The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity.
  • May float to other practices within the region providing operational support as needed.
  • Documents data and assessments in the patient record.

Requirements

  • Program Graduate, Diploma or Associate Program graduate (Required)
  • Department specific skills will be required if entering a practice that performs moderate sedation.
  • Documents billing codes at the end of each nursing visit as required.
  • Routes notes to providers for co-signatures as required.
  • Education
  • Experience
  • 1 year Medical office setting (Preferred)
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Department specific skills will be required if entering a practice that performs moderate sedation. To include, maintaining ACLS certification, yearly competency validation of moderate sedation procedures, airway management, and emergency management procedures.
  • Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)

Benefits

  • $32.50 - $44.73/HourlyActual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
  • Maintains excellent clinical competency by adhering to the standard clinical expectations for Riverside Medical Group.
  • Completes all required competencies and education to maintain skill level to provide safe patient care.
  • Assesses patient's medication management to include patient compliance, inventory, and educational needs.
  • Completes patient consults and testing orders, insurance pre-certification, and documentation appropriately to assure proper reimbursement.
  • Provides patient/family health counseling and education as needed to include but not limited to medications, procedures, and testing.
