About the role

  • The Intake Specialist position aims to ensure that all CHNY Youth's immediate needs are lovingly met.
  • In addition, the incumbent of this role will aid in creating a sense of community amongst youth and staff as the primary point of contact to welcome Youth into the CHNY environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent, up-to-date knowledge of CHNY's daily census and calculate census reports.
  • Ensure youth are aware of all 72-hour requirements to maintain residency at CHNY.
  • Conduct intake assessment and document all findings within ETO Escort youth to the care of their assigned floor and act as a point of contact as the youth becomes familiar with CHNY Issue and update the welcoming packet as needed Refer youth to alternative resources when necessary and create/leverage community resources.
  • Ensure all documents of youth, who got through re-intake, are accessible and up to date.

Requirements

  • Ensure that newly-intake candidates meet the qualifications required to be accepted into the CHNY community.
  • Qualifications At least one (1) year of work with at-risk youth and knowledge of Covenant House services A high school diploma is required, and/or a BS/BA is preferred.

  • At least one (1) year of work with at-risk youth and knowledge of Covenant House services A high school diploma is required, and/or a BS/BA is preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred A valid driver's license is a plus

  • $16k-$24k
