About the role

The Welder will utilize various welding processes to set up welders and weld vertically and horizontally with satisfactory results using aluminum and/or steel at standard rates.
Operate and set up MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding equipment to join and fabricate steel and aluminum components.
Check and adjust machine settings to ensure that the part is fabricated correctly according to specifications.

Support Dee Zee's environmental policies with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste while acting on environment performance results and findings.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules and regulations and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.

Ability to use measuring equipment (calipers, tape measures, and angle gauges).
Ability to effectively work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Ability to operate small grinding equipment (right angle grinder, pencil grinder, belt sander, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
Ability to read and understand written work instructions.
Ability to recognize when a weld meets Dee Zee and customer acceptance criteria.
Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconforming products to our customers.
High level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
