About the role
- While total patient care is the main objective, this position focuses on the testing component of patient care.
- Other equipment may be used as needed. - Telephone, computer, fax, printer and copier.
Responsibilities
- Perform biometry testing and evaluate results
- Perform and evaluate keratometry
- Perform and evaluate A-scans; contact and immersion
- Perform auto refraction and auto keratometry
- Perform corneal topography
- Perform pachymetry
- Perform ECC photography
- Perform post-refractive surgery patient work up
- This position is responsible for daily communication with patients, fellow technicians, and physicians. May provide training assistance or may perform general technician duties.
Requirements
- Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Previous specialized testing experience preferred.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required.
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
- Regularly uses Ophthalmic equipment/devices per sub-specialty requirement such as keratometer
- visual acuity measuring/B-VAT
- specular microscopy unit
Compensation
- $25k-$50k
