About the role

  • LaAmistad is seeking a B ilingual Parent Liaison to strengthen the bridge between Latino families, schools, and our afterschool programs.

  • From translating communication to helping parents navigate school systems, your work will ensure every family feels seen, informed, and involved in their child's success.

Responsibilities

  • As a Parent Liaison, you will work closely with families, staff, and community partners to improve family engagement and communication at your assigned afterschool site(s).
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to parent communication and student needs.
  • Attend and help coordinate meetings, events, and workshops involving families, school staff, or community partners.
  • Support school-home communication and ensure alignment with LaAmistad's mission and goals.
  • Meet with a family about accessing school support services
  • Volunteers and staff receive clear, bilingual communication support.

Requirements

  • Requires physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs., walk across campuses, push supply carts, and climb stairs as needed.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Zoom

Nice to have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with tutoring, parent coaching, school systems, or social services
  • Familiarity with the needs of Latino communities and diverse family structures
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends for events

Compensation
