About the role

  • Reporting to the VP Growth & Member Experience, the Financial Service Officer will be responsible for:
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong relationship with members by adopting a holistic approach towards managing their overall financial well-being.
  • Compiling lending package and establishing loan and/or mortgage structure with applicant, including rates, terms, repayment options, and other credit terms, while educating the member on debt management best practices.

Responsibilities

  • In the event of arrears, the FSO will be the first point of contact to set up payment arrangements to maintain a low level of delinquencies and prevent write-offs.
  • A confident and competent person who is a positive influence on their co-workers, sharing their financial knowledge to help others develop.

Requirements

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize their agenda, coupled with a high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of lending and wealth management.

Nice to have

  • A minimum 7 years member facing experience with providing financial advice ( lending, credit cards, RRSPs, etc…) with SCU or
  • h ave a university degree plus a minimum of two years of member-facing experience at SCU.

Compensation

  • This is a temporary full-time position that is covered under the Collective Agreement between Sydney Credit Union Limited and United Steelworkers, Local 1064 and will be filled in accordance with clause 21.03 (a) and renumeration will be in accordance with clause 9.01 of the agreement.
