About the role

  • The Early Interventionist provides specialized developmental intervention and monitoring to children, ages 0 to 3 (0-5 in Lakeport), who have an identified developmental delay or may be at risk of delay.
  • The Early Interventionist works closely with families, care providers and members of the Regional Centers' interdisciplinary teams to monitor and enable children's development.
  • The Early Interventionist is charged with creating a rich learning environment in which the child can make progress, meet treatment goals, and maximize learning potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective early intervention services in an inclusive and innovative manner that supports families and clients
  • Collaborate with FoC shared services departments to ensure successful delivery of services
  • Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas as deemed fit for the organization.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time up to and including 6-8 hours a day.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time up to and including 6-8 hours a day.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Ability to utilize computer and iPhone.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace.
  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites and client homes
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License with Insurance and maintain a clean driving record.

Nice to have

  • Must have at least 2 years of professional experience working with children.
  • Prior experience caring for infants and toddlers is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with a wide range of children and families from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Cantonese speaking highly desired.

Skills

  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Able to engage children and families, and work with very active children on the floor
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bi-lingual ability preferred.
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer software.

Compensation

  • $33.00 - $34.00 Per Hour
