About the role

  • At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), we show up for pets and the people who love them on some of their hardest days.
  • Currently, EVCC Saginaw is open from Friday at 7PM through Monday at 830AM including all holidays that occur during this timeframe.
  • Our #1 goal is to expand these hours to provide quality care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring your pet always has access to lifesaving treatment- weekend or not.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples, perform in-house diagnostic testing, and assist with outpatient procedures
  • Deliver compassionate, professional care while creating a positive experience for every patient and client

Requirements

  • Ability to safely and compassionately handle animals of all sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

Nice to have

  • Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in animal care (kennel, shelter, pet boarding, etc.) preferred

  • Obtain patient histories, record vital signs, and accurately document information in the medical record as directed

  • Your Role as an Experienced Veterinary Assistant (Day Shift)
  • As a Veterinary Assistant at our Mishawaka location, you'll be a crucial part of our emergency team.
  • You'll support veterinary technicians and veterinarians by assisting with patient care, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and ensuring the hospital is stocked and ready for every emergency.
  • This role would primarily focus on our out-patients.
