About the role

At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), we show up for pets and the people who love them on some of their hardest days.
Currently, EVCC Saginaw is open from Friday at 7PM through Monday at 830AM including all holidays that occur during this timeframe.
Our #1 goal is to expand these hours to provide quality care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring your pet always has access to lifesaving treatment- weekend or not.

Responsibilities

Collect and prepare laboratory samples, perform in-house diagnostic testing, and assist with outpatient procedures
Deliver compassionate, professional care while creating a positive experience for every patient and client

Requirements

Ability to safely and compassionately handle animals of all sizes and temperaments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

Nice to have

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in animal care (kennel, shelter, pet boarding, etc.) preferred

Obtain patient histories, record vital signs, and accurately document information in the medical record as directed
Monitor patient comfort during visits and promptly communicate any concerns or changes to the medical team
Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment in accordance with hospital protocols

Your Role as an Experienced Veterinary Assistant (Day Shift)
As a Veterinary Assistant at our Mishawaka location, you'll be a crucial part of our emergency team.
You'll support veterinary technicians and veterinarians by assisting with patient care, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and ensuring the hospital is stocked and ready for every emergency.
This role would primarily focus on our out-patients.
