About the role

  • Company Argo Group Argo Group is an underwriter of specialty insurance products in the property and casualty market.
  • The Argo entities are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Clearbrook Group Holdings Inc.
  • The position reports to the VP, Reinsurance Claims and is focused on XOL and Facultative Reinsurance reporting, billing, and collection activities, including URS data validation and reconciliation.

Requirements

  • A practical knowledge of reinsurance accounting, as well as an exceptional customer service focus typically achieved through:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Insurance or related degree required.
  • F our additional years of related accounting experience beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Must work independently and demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Excellent evaluation and analytical skills required.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize workload while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate the financial value of your work at multiple responsibility levels inside our clients' business which may include CEO.
  • Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have good business acumen ( i.e. understand how an insurance company works and makes money, including how this role impacts both Argo Group and our customers' ability to be profitable).
  • A minimum of two years of reinsurance accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Insurance or related degree required. F our additional years of related accounting experience beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Nice to have

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software ( e xperience with URS Reinsurance Accounting System a plus ).

Compensation

  • $ 86,000 - $ 101,500

  • The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience.
