About the role
- The Network Engineering Department at Televisa Univision is looking for a Master Control Engineer to join our team!
- Responsible for supporting cloud playout and distribution in multi-vendor IaaS and SaaS distribution and production environments used by Univision.
- You want to learn and grow on a team supporting a truly global media company.
Responsibilities
- You will work with other engineers to install, maintain, and evolve our cloud-based video playout, encoding, and distribution platforms.
- You will support microservice-based video processing workflows in a cloud environment.
- You will drive issues to resolution and provide root cause analysis if needed.
- You will support and maintain IP-based broadcast infrastructures utilizing SMPTE ST 2110 standards, including video (2110-20), audio (2110-30/31), and ancillary data (2110-40).
- You will identify process improvement opportunities and drive automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Ability to follow through on support requests in a timely manner, escalating to other members of the team or manufacturer support when appropriate.
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with server and workstation operation, configuration, and support.
- Experience with SCTE messaging (104, 35, 224)
- Experience with AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1, AAC video and audio codec standards
