About the role

  • A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline. AIS is looking for an At-Sea Survey Technician/EM Reviewer to support NOAA SEFSC
  • Population and Ecosystems Monitoring Division (PEMD).

Responsibilities

  • Perform human-in-the-loop review and correction of automated video annotation outputs
  • Enter and upload annotated data into GCRF Oracle databases; perform QA/QC
  • AIS is looking for an At-Sea Survey Technician/EM Reviewer to support NOAA SEFSC Population and Ecosystems Monitoring Division (PEMD).

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Marine Science or a related field of study (volunteer experience valued)
  • knowledge of reef taxa from the Gulf of America
  • Knowledge of endangered or threatened species
  • must have current tetanus vaccine
  • Domestic travel required for at-sea surveys aboard NOAA Research Vessels.

Compensation

  • Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on candidates' depth of experience.
  • This is a full-time position.
