About the role
- This role is well suited for a tech-savvy and detail oriented professional who is comfortable working across multiple systems and multiple entities.
- This role reports to the Financial Controller and sits within a team of 11.
- Working remotely 20-30 hours a week, with the expectation that you'll align to East Coast hours (ET).
Responsibilities
- Manage claims payments and cash disbursements, including positive pay, ACH returns, voids, and stop payments.
- Maintain accurate policy administration records, including write-offs and transaction clearing activities.
- Support carrier reporting and invoicing to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and compliance activities, including 1099 preparation and audit support.

Requirements
- 1-3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
- Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 proficiency - Comfortable working across both platforms.
Nice to have
- Insurance or MGA accounting experience - Familiarity with industry-specific accounting processes.
- Sage Intacct experience - Exposure to cloud-based accounting systems.
- Experience with insurance platforms.
- Knowledge of Velocity, FiveSigma, or policy administration systems.
- Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration qualification - Relevant academic background.
- AI is a multiplier here, it handles the repetitive so you can focus on the work that actually needs you.

Compensation
- Salary $45,000 - $50,000 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), pro-rata based on a 20-30 hour work week.
