About the role

  • Located five miles from downtown Boston, Tufts University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the highly-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
  • Tufts student-athletes participate in 30 varsity sports, 32 club sports and a number of intramural sports.
  • The Department of Athletics provides student-athletes with a dynamic, transformational experience on and off the field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform flexibility, strength, speed and conditioning tests on teams and individual student-athletes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field (kinesiology/exercise physiology)
  • Minimum of one year experience in collegiate strength and conditioning, and designing and implementing programs for college student-athletes
  • Knowledge of teaching methods
  • Knowledge of a variety of sports
  • proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Collegiate athletic experience
  • Athletics assistant coaches are employed by Tufts University for 10 months out of the calendar year.
  • Compensation shall be pro-rated based on the portion of a full-time position for which the staff member is employed. (10 month range: min-$31,333, mid-$39,167, max-$47,000)
  • Minimum $37,600.00, Midpoint $47,000.00, Maximum $56,400.00
  • generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
