About the role

  • We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our City Solutions practice in the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Candidates must either be RAQS certified in Traffic Impact Analysis or Transportation Studies, or eligible to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, budgets and schedules for traffic and transportation planning consulting and design projects under the guidance of senior Transportation Planning professionals.
  • Complete traffic impact studies, feasibility studies, functional plans, and preliminary / detailed designs for highways, roads and intersections, area transportation studies, traffic operations and parking demand investigations, analyses and recommendations, and site impact analyses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with assigned clients and regulatory approval officials.

Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in transportation engineering.
  • RAQS certification (or eligibility to attain) in Traffic Impact Analysis or Traffic Studies is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of transportation planning and engineering including:
  • Provide project status reports on a regular basis and as required.
  • Licensed as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Data collection, processing and management.
  • Transportation modelling and simulation.
  • Ontario municipal and provincial (MTO) standards and requirements
  • Functional planning for transportation infrastructure, transportation safety analysis and mitigation, traffic impact studies, construction traffic staging analysis and design, and transit studies
  • Managing traffic analysis work, clear reporting of findings, and presenting to clients.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

Compensation

  • As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $125,000-$140,000 for this position and local market.
