About the role
- It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws.
- Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission.
- Description of Work Reporting to the Special Operations Investigative Supervisor (Field Operations), this position will serve as a member of the US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Responsibilities
- Working with law enforcement partners to track, locate, and apprehend violent fugitives.
- Developing investigations through use of confidential informants
- Information provided must support responses to supplemental questions.
Requirements
- Must be certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission.
- Must be able to obtain security clearance and must be able to be sworn in by the partner agency.

- include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research from available US Marshal Services (USMS) databases, surveillance, interview and interrogation of offenders.
- supervising a caseload of Community Supervision absconders that have absconded after being convicted and placed under supervision for violent crimes.
- Providing security for highly publicized court appearances
